Rules and Regulations

Safety

All drivers must wear a correctly fitting DOT approved helmet while on the track.  The helmet must be fastened when pulling and remain on the driver's head until the tractor has stopped.

Anyone using any type of fuel other than gas, diesel, or E85 must wear a full fire suit with gloves, undergarments, and eye protection recommended.  The fire suit must have a minimum SFI rating of 3-2A/1.

Nitrous and Propane are NOT allowed in any class.

Long pants are mandatory, and long sleeves are recommended for all mod-stock, open, and 4 cyl. classes.  All drivers must be wearing enclosed shoes while pulling.  No sandals, open toe, or heel shoes are allowed.

Driver must remain seated at all times.  If you leave your seat, you will be disqualified.  This will be at the official's (flag man's) discretion.

Any tractor running over 4000 RPM must have a steel or aluminum flywheel.

All seats must have a minimum 3" back.

All batteries must be securely fastened.  They must also have covers or be enclosed under the tractor hood.

All tractors must have working breaks.

All tractors must pass tech inspection before they pull to ensure proper safety and class verification.

If the tractor does not meet our club rules 100%, directors will decide which class the tractor can run in.

Any turbine engines must show proof of certification.

You may assist a "young driver" at the start line with the throttle, clutch, steering, etc. before the tractor crosses the 75 ft. mark.  Any contact with the driver or tractor after the 75 ft. mark will be disqualified.  "Young drivers" must be able to control the tractor.

All open belts, pulleys, shafts, etc. must be shielded in the proper manner, as per class rules.  Shielding decisions will be made by the directors.  Drivers will be given a time frame to make their corrections.  Tractor will not be allowed to pull if it is considered dangerous.  This will be the directors' decision.

All turf tires must have at least 2/32" center face tread wear or driver will not be allowed to pull.

Any tractor with a roll cage - The driver must wear an approved fire suit and have a 4-5 point harness.

Any coaching down the track must be done from the side of the tractor.  If the coach wants to be ahead of the tractor, they must remain outside the white lines.  Violations and disciplinary actions will be decided by directors.

Drivers are NOT allowed to consume any alcoholic beverages before, during, or after pulling. The exception will be when their tractor is loaded on their trailer at the end of the pull.  Any puller who violates this rule will be banned from pulling with Hook - n - Go for 1 year from the date of the incident.  Also, you will lose all points earned for the year to date.

No unsportsmanslike conduct, use of profanity, or disorderly conduct will NOT be tolerated.  Offenders will be asked to leave the grounds immediately.  No points will be given to the tractor for that day.  Disciplinary action will be left to the discretion of the directors.

General Rules

There must be two tractors in a class to compete.  There must also be at least two members to compete for points.

All tractors are subject to a handicap or rule change at the directors' discretion.

Each tractor has the option of two hooks per day, but each hook is in a different weight class.

The tractor has three minutes to hook to the skid.  If you are not hooked, you are disqualified unless it is due to mechanical failure.  In that case, you have the option of dropping to the bottom of the pulling order.

You have two tries to get the skid off the line.

If the driver hooks to the skid and can not move it, the driver has the option of spotting the skid for the second try.  The driver is allowed to spot the skid for the first hook; after that, the skid cannot be spotted.

Once the class has started, there will be NO refunds.

The first driver in each class will be the test puller.  If the skid has to be reset after the first driver, they will be dropped to the bottom of the pulling order.  If the skid does not have to be reset, the first driver has to take their pull.  NO OPTIONS.

Drivers may stop and change the weights once if they signal to stop before the 75 foot mark.  Any stopping after the 75 foot mark will be measured at that point.

If you lose anything off your tractor, you will be disqualified with the exception of the first try out of the hole.  At that point, you can still use your second try.  Anything lost after the second try will be disqualified.

Tractor and driver must weigh exactly the weight of the class or less.

Tractor must be weighed immediately before hooking to the skid.  If you leave the track, you must re-weigh the tractor before re-hooking.

If you go out of bounds with any tractor tire, you will be disqualified and receive only one hook point for the day.  This is the flag person's discretion.

If you develop a leak of any kind on the track that is bad enough to affect the condition of the track, you will be disqualified.  You will be required to repair all leaks before further pulling is done by said tractor.  The quantity of the leak (spills) on the track and how much it affects the track conditions will be left to the discretion of the track officials, not the pullers.  Any repeat offenses for the same problem will be cause for disqualification.

There will be no cleaning or sweeping of the track during the class.  All cleaning will be done between classes.  This does not include leak clean up or excessive rocks thrown on track, etc.

Tire width and height will be determined by the manufacturer's size #'s that are molded on the side wall.  Example:  18x9.5x8.  This is 18" high, 91/2" wide, and fits an 8" rim.

There will be no grinding off of the numbers on the side wall.

No chains, duals, front wheel drive, or 4wheel drives are allowed.

If you scratch from a class, it MUST be done before the class starts.  If the class starts, NO REFUNDS!

Any infraction of rules:

1st infraction:  Warning with the exception of Safety rules 5 & 6

                  2nd infraction:  Two pull suspension

3rd infraction:  Left to the discretion of the directors

General Tractor Set Up -- All Classes

Wheelie/Tip Bars:  They must be made in a way that they will hold the total weight of the tractor and will not interfere with the skid pull chain.  Starting point:  There must be a minimum of 5" behind rear of wheels with the maximum furthest distance back being 21" from the center of rear axle.  There must be a maximum of 5" above the ground.  Stock Classes: may run wheels.  Outlaw Classes: must run skid pads and must be a minimum of 3" x 3" square.  Directors will make any tip bar changes needed known to drivers, and drivers will  be given a time frame to make changes needed.

Teardown Rules for Pure Stock, Improved Stock, and Stock Altered

Any class member who is actively competing for the day may request the inspection of another puller’s tractor.  Teardown will be completed the same day following the last stock class.  Minimum of one non-stock director will be present.  A $75.00 deposit is required for an overall tear down.  This means the motor will be pulled, and the tractor will be checked thoroughly.  If the tractor is found legal, $65.00 will be given to the owner of the tractor to cover the cost of gasket replacement and $10.00 will be given to the tech inspector.  If the tractor is found to be in violation, $75.00 will be returned to the petitioning puller.  Violating puller/tractor will:

1.) pay the $10.00 teardown fee for inspection

2.) lose its total year -to-date points in both weight classes

3.) be suspended for two full pulls

-If you refuse a teardown, you are automatically found guilty!

Following suspension, the tractor will be checked for rules' compliance before being allowed to pull again.  Second violation will result in a one year suspension.  Violation does not prohibit driver or tractor from pulling in the Mod-Stock class.  Throughout the season, a lottery may be held to select tractor(s) to be torn down at random.  If the tractor is found legal, the owner is responsible for gasket replacement.  If the tractor is found in violation, above rules apply.

At any time, any puller may have another tractor checked for RPMs. If you are requesting an RPM check, it must be done during the class in question, and $10.00 must be presented to an official.
