General Club Rules--Updated 12/31/06
2007 Memberships must be paid at the rules meeting to be eligible to vote ($25.00). If paid after deadline of March 31, 2007, there is a late fee of $10.00 which will be enforced.
New this year, each puller must sign a waiver at every pull for the insurance company. A special waiver must be completed for each minor child wishing to pull. The waiver can be found at www.alliedspecialty.com/racing.This must be signed and brought with to each pull in order to be eligible to pull. I will have a waiver for anyone over 18 yrs old to sign at each pull. This is not an option. This needs to be done at every pull or we could lose our insurance coverage.
Pullers must be at 50% of pulls to qualify for end of year trophy or plaque. This was a Board of Director Decision.
Entry Fees Late entries (after drivers meeting) will pay an additional $10.00 All NON-MEMBERS will pay an additional $10.00/day to cover the cost of insurance. The rest gets split 50, 30, and 20 for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places unless stated differently under Entry Fees. The club gets all non-member insurance, late entry, and hometown entry fee. Points System 1st place = 10 2nd place = 9 3rd place = 8 4th place = 7 5th place = 6 6th place = 5 7th place = 4 8th place = 3 9th place = 2 10th place = 1 Plus 1 hook point. Must be a registered member to receive points. Out of bounds with any tractor tire = 1 pt only. If you are disqualified, you receive no PAYBACKS!!!! Hook’n Go Rules and Regulations Membership $25.00 per tractor. $35.00 per tractor if paid after March 31, 2007. This does not apply to 1st time members with the club. Any NSF checks--violator will NOT be allowed to pull until check is paid for and the violator will no longer be eligible to write checks to the club. Safety All drivers must wear a correctly fitting DOT approved helmet while on the track. Helmet must be fastened when pulling and remain on head until tractor has stopped. Anyone using any type of fuel other than gas, diesel, or E85 must wear a full body fire suit with gloves, undergarments, and eye protection recommended. Fire suit is to have a minimim SFI rating of 3-2A/1. Nitrous is NOT allowed in any class. Long pants are mandatory and long sleeves are recommended for all mod-stock, open, and 4 cyl. Outlaw. All drivers in all classes must wear an enclosed shoe. No sandals, or open toe or heel. No driver will be allowed to consume alcohol beverages or use drugs before they pull or are done loading their tractor. This also pertains to any pit crew member while trackside. If the driver is considered under the influence, the driver will be banned for 1 yr from the date of the infraction. No points will be given to the tractor that day. No unsportsmanlike conduct, use of profanity, or disorderly conduct will be tolerated. Offender will be asked to leave the grounds immediately. No points will be given to the tractor that day. Disciplinary action will be left to the discretion of the directors. Driver must remain seated at all times. If you leave your seat, you will be measured at that point. Officials (flag person) discretion. Any tractor running over 4000 RPM must have a steel or aluminum flywheel. All seats must have a minimum 3” back. All batteries must be securely fastened. They must also have covers or be enclosed under the tractor hood. All tractors must have working breaks. No propane allowed. All tractors must pass tech inspection before they pull to ensure proper safety and class verification. If tractor does not meet our clubs rules 100%, directors will decide which class the tractor will run in. Any turbine engine must show proof of certification. You may assist a “young driver” at the start of a pull with the throttle, clutch, steering, etc. before the tractor crosses the 75 ft mark. Any contact with driver or the tractor after the 75 ft mark, you will be measured at that point. “Young drivers” must be able to control tractor. All open belts, pulley, shafts, etc will be shielded in the proper manner, as per class rules. Shielding decisions will be made by the directors. Drivers will be given a time frame to have any corrections made. Tractor will not be allowed to pull if considered dangerous by the directors. All turf tires must have 2/32” center face or more to be allowed to run. Any tractor with a roll cage, the driver must wear an approved fire suit and must have at least a seat belt. 4 or 5 point harness is recommended. Any coaching down the track must be done from the side of the tractor at all times. If coach wants to be ahead of the tractor, they must remain outside the white line. Violation and disciplinary actions will be left to the discretion of the directors. General Rules Must have at least 2 tractors in a class to compete. All tractors subject to a handicap or rule change at the director’s discretion. Tractor has the option of 2 hooks per day, with each hook being in a different weight class. The tractor has 3 minutes to hook to the skid. If you are not hooked, you are disqualified unless it is due to mechanical failure. In that case you have the option to drop to the bottom of the pulling order. You have 2 tries to get the skid started. If the driver hooks to the skid and can not move it, the driver does have the option to have the skid spotted for the 2nd try. Driver will be allowed to spot the skid before the 1st hook, after that the skid can not be spotted. Once the class has started there will be NO REFUNDS. 1st driver in each class will be the test puller. If the skid ahs to be reset after the test pull, the test puller will drop to the bottom of the order to take his re-pull. If the skid does not have to be reset, the 1st puller will take the first pull. NO OPTIONS. Driver may stop and change the weights once if done before the 75 ft mark. Any stopping after the 75 ft mark, you will be measured at that point. If you lose anything off your tractor, you will be measured at that point, with the exception of the 1st try out of the hole. At that point, you can still use your 2nd try. Anything lost after 2nd try, you will be marked where the object was lost. Tractor and driver must weigh exactly the weight of the class or less. Tractor must be weight immediately before hooking to the skid. If you leave the track are, you must reweigh before hooking. Out of bounds with any tractor tire, you will be disqualified and receive only 1 hook point. This is the flag person’s discretion. If you develop a leak of any kind on the track that is bad enough to affect the condition of the track, you will be shut down and measured a that point. You will be required to repair all leaks before further pulling is done by said tractor. The quantity of the leak (spills) on the track and how much it affects the track conditions will be left to the discretion of the track officials, not the pullers. Repeat offenses for the same problem will be cause for disqualification. There will be no cleaning or sweeping of the track during the class. All cleaning will be done in between classes. This does not include leak clean up or excessive rocks thrown on track, etc. Tire width and height will be determined by the manufacturer’s size numbers that are molded on the side wall. Example: 18x9.5x8. This is 18” high, 9 ½” wide, and fit’s an 8” rim. There will be no grinding off of the numbers on the side wall. No chains, duals, front wheel drive, or 4 wheel drives are allowed. If you scratch from a class, it MUST be done before the class starts. If class starts, NO REFUNDS! Any infraction of rules: 1st infraction: Warning with the exception of Safety rules 5&6 2nd infraction: 2 pull suspension 3rd infraction: Left to the discretion of the directors. Registration needs to be done by the time of the driver’s meeting. Any entry after the driver’s meeting will pay a $10.00 late fee. General Tractor Set Up -- All Classes Hitches: Maximum draw bar height is 13” at the top of the hitch. Draw bar must be rigid in all directions. No part of the draw bar shall interfere with the pull chain or skid. Hitch must have a clevis or a 1 ½” hook hole made from ½” material. Wheelie/Tip Bars: Must be made in a way that they will hold the total weight of the tractor and wil not interfere with the skid pull chain. Starting point: Minimum of 5” behind rear of wheels with the maximum furthest distance back being 21” from the center of rear axle. A maximum of 5” above the ground. Stock Classes: may run wheels. Outlaw Classes: must run skid pads and must be a minimum of 3”x3” square. Directors will make any tip bar changes needed known to drivers, and drivers will be given a time frame to make changes needed. Weights: Maximum furthest point of rear weight in all classes is 21” from the center of rear axle. Rules for Individual Classes Hometown Stock Weight: 600#, 800#, 1000#, 1200# Entry Fee: $5.00 Ribbons Only Tractors in this class are for non-members only. All drivers MUST wear a helmet. One and two cylinder classes will run separately. All tractors in this class must be factory components: tires, wheels, brakes, fenders, and with stock governed RPM’s. If tractor has 13” hitch, it must have approved wheelie bars. Hitch must have a 1 ½” hole or clevis. You may assist a “young driver” at the start of a pull with the throttle, clutch, steering, etc., before the 75 ft. mark. Any contact with the tractor or driver after the 75 ft. mark, you will be measured at that point. “Young drivers” must be able to control tractor. All open belts, pulleys, shafts, etc., will be shielded in the proper manner. Tractor will not be allowed to pull if considered dangerous by directors. Approved damper and/or shielding is necessary. Pure Stock **New in 2007** Weight: 950#, 1000#Entry Fees: $5.00 for Members and Non Members Payback is Ribbons only. 4 cycle, single cylinder – 0-12 horsepower and must be lawn and garden type engine offered from factory. Must retain stock stroke, bore, and valve size. (.030 clean-up allowed) No porting or polishing allowed. All motor parts must be unaltered OEM components. Must have Stock carburetor. Working air cleaner required. May run 3600 RPM max, but will be checked with club tach. Exhaust may be modified but must be in upright position past hood. Must have working reverse and no gear changes. Deadman throttle is an option. Kill switch and wheelie bars are require (13” hitch height). Must retain stock sheet metal (ex. cub on cub). Must have stock frames and axles. Tire size 23 x 10.50 x 12 max (no cutting or aluminum wheels). Front weight bracket max distance 12” from front of tractor. All club general and safety rules apply Improved Stock (One Cylinder) Weight: 800#, 1000# 1100# Entry Fees: $6.00 for members $8.00 for non members ***800# Class*** Payback is trophies only. Open to all pullers. Only pullers 14 yrs or younger will be eligible for the trophies and the points. Tractors in this class are for lawn mowers only. All tractors are subject to a handicap or rule change at the discretion of the directors. Engine and chassis must be from a factory garden tractor. Sheet metal must be factory appearing. Tractor will have one cylinder. 18 horse will run a max. of 3600 RPM, 16 horse will run a max. of 4200 RPM with steel flywheel and 4000 RPM without, and 14 horse may run open RPM. NO LEEWAY!! Any tractor running over 4000 RPM must have a steel flywheel.. No twin cylinders. RPM’s will be checked with Club tach. RPM’s will be randomly checked by directors using the club tach before the pull or as tractor leaves the track. The said tractor will be checked only once unless the 1st check did not read. There will be no exceptions to the RPM check rule. All 14 horse with open RPM must be shielded on opposite side of camshaft 4” above centerline of crankshaft and must be at least 7” in width along with a head strap. Tractor does not have to be self starting. No object over 8 feet from the center of the rear axel forward. Ag or turf tires only. Tires not to exceed 26x12x12. No Pit Bulls, Cepek, or Lawn Tec brand tires. Cutting is allowed. All turf tires must have a 2/32” center face or more to be allowed to pull. No electrical fuel pumps, unless original to tractor. Gasoline fuel only. No alcohol, diesel, or E85 allowed. May have aluminum rims. Must have working kill switch. Kill switch must be easily accessible to the sled operator. Dead man throttle is an option--forward throttle motion to increase RPM. Must maintain original wheelbase. Carburetor must be stock and unaltered with no after-market carburetor standoffs. Choke shafts must be in place. No velocity stacks. Port altering, polishing, and grinding are allowed. Crankshafts can be made of steel with stock stroke. Stock heads only. Heads may be surfaced but no re-cutting allowed in valve relief area. Valves and pistons must be unaltered stock OEM parts. Connecting rod must be stock length. Camshaft not to exceed specified max. Lifts -- Kohler: .324 tappit lift, and other stock lifts. Modifications to clutch, drive line, and trans- axel assembly are allowed. No modifications to frame, with the exception being notched for start and ring gear. “Young drivers” refer to safety rules. All open belts, pulleys, shafts, etc., must be shielded. Recommended 1/16” steel shielding of factory equivalent on flywheel and 1/16” steel shielding on belts. Also, clutch is to be shielded 360° with 1/16” steel. Decision as to safety will be made by the directors. Drivers will be given a time frame to have a corrections made. Tractor will not be allowed to pull if considered dangerous by the directors. May manufacture own front axle. Straight axle in bolster in stock location. Rearend must also be in stock location. Approved damper and/or shielding are necessary. All general and safety rules apply. Protest rules consist of valve lift, bore size, and stroke. See teardown rule for Stock and Stock Altered list after rules for Stock Altered Class. Stock Altered Weight: 1000#, 1050# Entry Fee: $6.00 for members $8.00 for non members Commercially available garden tractor with cast block engine. Engine block and chassis must be from factory produced garden tractor and maintain stock appearance. Sheet metal may be altered but has to maintain factory appearance. All engine parts used must meet OEM dimensions and specifications for size and location. Non-stock iginition systems are allowed. No welding or externally visible modifications to block or cylinder head. Stock crankshaft stroke must be maintained. Up to 3” standoff allowed. Carburetor must be stock appearing for engine manufacturer. Max. air restricting venturi diameter: 1.200 inch. Air flow must be controlled by throttle shaft actuated butterfly in stock location. No air may enter intake after 1.200 inch restriction. Maximum camshaft spec: .340 tappit lift for 18 horse and .475 tappit lift for 16 horse, cold engine. Valve diameter: 1.700 inch for 16 horse only. 18 horse will use stock diameter. This only applies to flathead 16 horse or smaller single cylinders. Any twin over 18 horse will be handicapped at 4000 RPM. Cylinder bore must be stock location, billet heads allowed on flatheads or piston pop-up allowed. Longer rod allowed. Any tractor running over 4000 RPM must have a steel or aluminum flywheel. Billet steel or aluminium flywheels required. No RPM limit. Maximum tire size: 26x12x12. Engine and driven components must be shielded per requirements in Super Stock. Stock engine bored .040 over manufacturer’s standard specifications and all OHV engines require a cylinder head restraint device. Max. bore .040 over. Maximum wheelbase is 56 inches. Any garden tractor chassis having a stock wheelbase of 56 inches or longer must retain stock wheelbase. Chassis may be altered to accept non-original engine but must remain at stock length. Gasoline or alcohol (methanol only NO ADDITIVES) allowed. Fire suit is mandatory for anyone running alcohol. Refer to safety rules. Maximum distance from center of rear axle to furthest point forward is 96 inches. All tractors subject to a handicap or rule change at director’s discretion. Protest rules will consist of valve lift, bore size, and stroke. See teardown rule for stock and stock altered. All other general and safety rules apply. Teardown Rule for Improved Stock and Stock Altered Any class member who is actively competing for the day may request the inspection of another puller’s tractor. Tear down will be completed the same day following the last stock class. Minimum of 1 non-stock director will be present. A $50.00 deposit is required with $10.00 of this deposit is automatically used to pay the tech inspector. If the tractor is found legal, $40.00 will be given to the owner of the tractor being inspected to cover the cost of gasket replacement. If the tractor is found to be in violation, $50.00 will be returned to the petitioning puller. Violating puller/tractor will: 1. Pay the $10.00 teardown fee to inspector. 2. Lose its total year to date points. 3. Be suspended for 2 full pulls. Following suspension, the tractor will be checked for rules compliance before being allowed to pull again. Second violation will result in a 1 yr suspension. Violation does not preclude driver or tractor from Mod-Stock class. Through out the season, a lottery may be held to select tractor(s) to be torn down at random. IF the tractor is found legal, the owner is responsible for gasket replacement. If the tractor is in violation, above rules apply. Super Stock (1 cylinder) Weight: 1050#, 1100#Entry Fees: $8.00 Members $10.00 Non Members Tractors in this class will have 1 cylinder flathead with no RPM limit. 50.5 cubic inch. Must be lawn mower chassis. Wheelbase must be 56 inches or under. Tires not to exceed 26x12x12. Style of tires allowed: Pit Bull, Cepek, and Turf, No slicks allowed. Aluminum rims allowed. Must have rear kill switch. Electric fuel pumps must be wired into the kill switch. Pump gas or racing fuel permitted, this includes alcohol. Must have steel flywheel. All flywheels must be shielded 360° with 1/16” steel or aluminum equivalent. This is to be as tight to the flywheel as possible. Engine must be shielded on opposite side of camshaft 4” above centerline of crankshaft and must be at least 7” in width. Tractor must have deadman throttle with spring loaded return. Tractor must have accessible and working fire extinguisher. All other general and safety rules apply. All Outlaw and Hobby Stock Tractors Tractor size: A max. length of 10’ overall (including weights). Max width of 72” and to have no more than 8” wheelbase. Fenders: Must have 1/3 of the rear tire covered with a minimum of 6” wide fender starting at the front most center of the tire and extending backwards to cover 1/3 of the tire. Rear fenders must be built in a way that the seat is enclosed on both sides with 0 driver access to the tires. Shielding: All shielding is to be either ¼” aluminum or 3/16” steel. Sport Engines: All chains enclosed, block front, side by heads, all other moving parts deemed dangerous by directors. Auto Engines: Motor, both sides, front to back, bottom to head to top of pan. Bell housing and drive shaft. Minimum ¼” aluminum or 3/16” steel shroud or approved scatter blanket on flywheel housing. Turbos must be shielded 360° with either ¼” aluminum or 3/16” steel. Steel brake rotors on drive shaft must be covered 360° with either ¼” aluminum or 3/16” steel. Electric fans only. No engine driven fans. Exhaust must be upright (vertical) in direction only. Fuel pumps: All electric fuel pumps must be wired into the kill switch. All liquid cooled engines will have an adequately sized coolant recovery tank on the radiator along with a working temperature gauge. All tractors with a roll cage must have at least a seat belt for safety. 4 or 5 point harness recommended. Tractors must have a deadman throttle. Accessible and working fire extinguisher 1 ½ to 2 pounds. Must have a tether switch attached to throttle wrist of driver and kill switch to skid. No tractor running at anytime without a driver in the seat. Tires: No chains, duals, front wheel drive or 4 wheel drives allowed. Must use fluid damper or have harmonic balance shielded 360° with ¼” aluminum or 3/16” steel. Blowers in allowed classes must be securely fastened with proper SFI rated strapping system. Must have a neutral switch or safety start switch on clutch pedal. Outlaw (Max. 1500 cc 4cylinder) Weight: 1150#, 1250#Entry Fees: $12.00 Members $14.00 Non Members This class is for snowmobile, motorcycle (sport engines) single cylinder motor (1). This includes 2 wheel drive ATV’s. Silencers for 2 stroke motors. Tires: Not to exceed 26x12x12. Tires must be ATV or lawn turf tires. NO slicks, sticky or racing component tires. Tires need 2/32” center face. Both tires need to pass tech inspection. If one does not pass, you will not be allowed to pull. All other general and safety rules apply. Age: May drive at 14 yrs of age with written parental consent and signing parent present at track side. Open Class Weight: 1450#, 1650#Entry Fees: $12.00 Members $14.00 Non Members Any size engine or engines. Any turbine must show proof of certification. Tire size: Max is 26x12x12. Turf tires only on blacktop. Cepek, Pit Bulls, or Lawn Tec are allowed on dirt. Fuel: Gas, alcohol, or diesel. Fire suit needed for anyone running alcohol. All other general and safety rules apply. Age: May drive at 16 yrs of age with written parental consent and signing parent present at trackside. 14 yr olds may pull if already pulling an Outlaw (100# or 1250#) or Super Stock. Outlaw (4 cylinder) Weight: 1400#, 1600# Entry Fees: $12.00 Members $14.00 Non Members Only for automotive engines. Tires not to exceed 30x13 for blacktop and 31x15.5x15 for dirt. No limit on tire style. Blowers allowed if properly installed. Turbos allowed if properly installed. All other general and safety rules apply. Age: May drive at 16 yrs of age with written parental consent and signing parent present at trackside. Hobby Stock (V6’s and V8’s) Weights: 1750#, 1950# Entry Fees: $12.00 Members $14.00 Non Members Tractors must have OEM small block engine. Only stock production heads. Porting and polishing is allowed. Aftermarket performance heads allowed, but with the stock valve angle. Single 4 barrel carburetor and intake for fuel injection is allowed. Must be naturally aspirated. No turbos or blowers. Tires: Blacktop not to exceed 30x13, Dirt not to exceed 31x15.5. Mandatory roll cages, recommended SFI specs but may be 1 ¼” tubing by .095 wall. Must have a seat belt but a 4 or 5 point harness is recommended. All other general and safety rules apply. **New in 2007** Small Block Outlaw (V6’s and V8’s) Weights: 1800#, 1900# Entry Fees: $12.00 Members $14.00 Non Members Tractors must have OEM small block engine.
